Scenic Oaks is also the home to the Willow Creek Reserve.  This is a smaller body of water with natural (unpaved) hiking and a fishing pier. This space is popular amongst fishermen and families (young and old) that want a short hike.  In addition to fishing, geocaching has grown popular in the Willow Creek Reserve.

Scenic Oaks is considered a residential area and does not have commercial businesses within its boundaries; however Willow Creek Golf Course is located on the outer, northeastern rim of the neighborhood.  Willow Creek Golf Course is a public 18-hole course and 9-hole executive golf course with facilities for events (i.e. weddings, reunions, summer picnics and more).

Nearby, there is a wealth of big city amenities and many are within walking distance.  Just outside of the Scenic Oaks neighborhood is a Kwik Trip truck stop and a McDonalds. If you continue walking on the paved paths and cross the hwy 52 bridge, you will immediately be greeted by the Shoppes on Maine retail development.  In this area, you will find Target (South), Petsmart (with veterinary and grooming services), Old Navy and Maurices. For restaurants, the area has Noodles & Company, Rooster’s, Too (Bar & Grill) and Fat Willy’s (Bar & Grill).  For entertainment, Marcus Cinema (formally known as Wehrenberg Theaters) features luxury, reclining chairs and is a favorite theater in the area.  Next, if you want to plant your garden or buy a fishing pole for the Willow Creek Reservoir, you will want to stop by Fleet Farm or Tractor Supply. For your home repairs and building needs, stop by Lowes.  To furnish your home, stop at Deutsch Furniture for some handcrafted Amish furniture. Next, if you are in the market for a new vehicle, Shoppes on Maine has 3 car dealerships:  Rochester Toyota, Mercedes-Benz  and Subaru of Rochester.  Additionally, this area also boasts banks, medical services (dentists, medi-spa), hair salons and a liquor store.     

Lastly, if the immediate area doesn’t have what you need, downtown Rochester is only 8 minutes away.  Alternatively, if you desire to travel further, the Rochester International Airport is only 5 minutes away and has on-site parking.
